The aim of CottonDB is to provide a convenient medium for all cotton
researchers to easily exchange information related to germplasm,
markers, genetic/physical maps, trait studies, sequences, etc. through a
website interface. To achieve this goal, we will:
Continue collecting, consolidating, and integrating data generated
from ongoing genetic and genomic research efforts and make these data
available to the international cotton scientific community.
Utilize existing database tools or adopt open source software to
enhance data interaction and visualization capabilities.
Closely connect with the cotton research community -
CottonDB must have ties to and interact with the cotton research
community.
Maintain close interaction with other cotton databases, so that to support data inquiry
from the broader scientific community.
